Running Live Thoughts for Monday Night RAW - Refresh periodically

WOW! What an overwhelmingly negative reaction for John Cena! I’m surprised that WWE didn’t overdub with cheers, since this show is taped.

Love the hype they’re giving next week’s Raw with the Rock - mostly because I’m gonna be there, with SICK seats!

Don’t what me!

Not really a fan of how much John Cena just kissed the Rock’s butt after all of this animosity, but I am SO PSYCHED the Zack Ryder just made the save to  huge pop!

Nevermind - apparently Cena was talking about Ryder - which is awesome…now let’s all stay tuned for the weekly burial of John Morrison.

Did anyone else see the story on Morrison from WWE.com? I think it’s going to turn out being like the Sheamus storyline where he went on a losing streak and then turned around and won the US Title. Hopefully that’s the case, and he’s not on his way out the door.

The more I watch this match, the more I think this Morrison thing is going somewhere. If the WWE were burying him, I don’t think they would give him TV time every week, and definitely not a 10+ minute match against the United States Champion on Raw.

Yup - just like I thought. I really think Ziggler needs to drop the US Title to Ryder at Survivor Series and then transition into the Main Event picture. Perhaps Ziggler-Morrison-Ryder at Survivor Series?

Hunico looks like a Homicide rip off.

Yawn. I get the squash. I realize you need to get Mason Ryan over as a powerhouse. But, if you book him against someone like JTG, I just don’t care.

In related news…JTG still has a job? Really?

When Alberto Del Rio debuted, I was really high on him. When he won the Royal Rumble (which I was lucky enough to be in attendance for) I hoped he would go on to Wrestlemania and win the World Heavyweight Championship. Now, I’m becoming bored with him. They aren’t really giving him anything to do, and as WWE Champion, he has become second fiddle to John Cena and the Rock. As much as I love the Rock, whenever the WWE Championship is considered a secondary storyline there’s something wrong.

As much as I love Punk, that was a really weak segment. Are we really supposed to believe that there was any chance that Punk would say “you know what, you’re right. I don’t want a chance to win the top title in the business at one of the ‘Big Four’ pay per views. No thanks.” Pretty dumb if you ask me. Hopefully we get a better situation for Punk at Raw next week.

This segment is killing me. These insults are silly, and whatever happened to Be a STAR?

Definitely gonna catch heat for this, but I actually like Eve’s song. And DAYUM Kelly!

I HATE that John Laurinitis always feels the need to give his FULL title every single time he speaks! And look at Nash rockin the beard.

How many times are we going to see this footage? “Does he have a pulse?” Good Lord.

I’m confused. Triple H is still the measuring stick around here, but Kevin Nash is the best ever? WHAT? What is he saying?

Nash probably spent all day thinking up that last line. He could learn a thing or two from Punk. Kinda funny how this whole angle started with Nash attacking Punk and all of a sudden its centered around Triple H. Anyone surprised? Nope? Yeah, me neither.

Does constantly carrying around a travel coffee mug mean you’re a lawyer? If that’s the case, I’m the best lawyer in town!

I get so amped everytime I see the commercial promoting “Raw Get Rocked.” I get to see the Rock live next week, something I never thought I would see again. So psyched.

Very bummed I didn’t buy Survivor Series tickets like I wanted to. Still trying to figure out a way to make Wrestlemania happen for me.

Remember when Miz was awesome? I was a huge fan leading up to and during is WWE Title run. Now I’m just bored.

LOVE that Zack Ryder is in the Main Event of RAW. I really hope he gets the pin.

We want Ryder chants. Love it. He’s totally gonna get the Hot Tag.

Lame finish. Hopefully they give us a better show next week.

Alright - overall, it was a “meh” show. Nothing really stood out to me, other than Zack Ryder in the Main Event. Nothing special happened, and maybe they did that because it was a taped show and they didnt want to give any cool stuff away to spoilers? Either way, I am psyched for next week!

Finally…I have come back…to Tumblr….

Lame Rock reference, I know. But, I couldn’t help it. Either way, I’ve decided to give this rasslin’ blog a go again, and I will be posting my thoughts live with Raw tonight. I know its a taped show, but I avoided spoilers all day so that my reactions would be organic and live. So, check back at the top of the hour for my Raw thoughts!

My Macho Man Story

I wrote about a personal story I have about the Macho Man in my running live thoughts earlier tonight, so I thought that I would repost it up here to highlight it.

I have a personal story about the Macho Man. Nothing spectacular, just a simple story that made me real happy as a kid. When I was young, the WWF at that time, would run shows at the local minor league baseball stadium (MacArthur Stadium then, Alliance Bank Stadium now). I was in the car with my mother, and I must have been 7 or 8 years old at this point. We’re sitting in traffic trying to get into the parking lot, and this little red sports car pulls up right next to us, on my mother’s side of the car. I look over, and who do I see driving the red sports car? The Macho Man Randy Savage. And he looks over at me, points at me with the signature wiggly fingers, and gives me a thumbs up. At this point I was marking the hell out (although I didn’t know what marking out meant when I was that age) but my mother didn’t believe it was really him. She thought it was some fan who dressed up like him for the show. Right up until she heard the parking attendant walk up to the red sports car and say “Oh, Macho Man! The wrestler’s parking is over there!”

That’s my Macho Man story. Like I said, nothing crazy, but I will always remember that moment from my childhood. Macho didn’t have to, but he stopped to say hello to me and my mother while we were sitting in traffic. I’m not sure how many others would do that. Thanks for the memory Macho!

Thank You Macho Man

Running Live Thoughts for Monday Night RAW - Refresh periodically

I’ll hopefully be keeping this running throughout the show tonight with whatever random thoughts I have about the show.

I liked how they once again opened with the “In Memory” graphic for the Macho Man. Was hoping for a ten bell salute, but I look forward to a video package later tonight.

Have to admit - when King came out to open the show for a promo, I thought he was going to announce his retirement. Good to see that the Cole Mine is not there though, and even better that Cole isn’t even there at all (at least not yet).

Good to see Bret Hart on RAW again. Always a legend - I just wish he was physically able to wrestle - would love to see one more REAL match.

R Truth promo at the top of the show again - loving the character he’s portraying now. This is something that WWE finally got right…two months ago I couldn’t stand R Truth. I hated the guy, I hated the character. Well, I’m sold now, I’m an R Truth mark!

Too bad Cena interrupted. Would have loved to see the Hitman slap on another sharpshooter!

"You sir, is a rooster from Brewster!" - hahahaha…R TRUTH baby!

Wow…R Truth is in line for a title shot?

Bret Hart as guest referee? I’ll take it!

Kane and Big Show are bullies. Ricardo Rodriguez was just trying to defend Alberto Del Rio’s VERY expensive car. I don’t understand what hes saying!

WOW. Only two seconds…literally…and Kharma is already on her way to the ring. Is this where Beth Phoenix gives Kharma a run for her money? Doubtful, since it seems the program is built around Kelly Kelly.

Kane and Big Show defending tag titles against a different variation of Nexus tonight. Remember when Nexus was awesome?

I wonder if Alberto Del Rio costs Kane and Show? Lead to a program?

Well, I was wrong about WHO interfered, but at least I was right in the fact that Kane and Show would lose due to interference.

If they were gonna do it this way, why not Punk and Ryan last night?

Horrible poster for Capital Punishment. And now, instead of wrestling, we get to watch Randy Orton sign autographs at WalMart. Not sure if WWE remembers, but Randy Orton is on Smackdown now.

Months ago, Kane was the ruthless S.O.B. that put his own brother in a “vegetative state” for his own benefit…now he screams in agony for help because his friend got hit by a car? Is Kane schizophrenic?

Jack Swagger vs Evan Bourne…I smell a squash

Haha, that was actually pretty funny from Eve.

I hate Michael Cole. I hate that, just like that, he’s back on the commentary team, and will likely no longer be the heel Cole. Lame.

Really wish the Miz was standing in the ring with the WWE Title right now.

Alex Riley face turn? Interesting!

Where does the Miz go from here? Last night and right now it looks like a de-push. I read somewhere that he’s going to be booked as the new face of the company soon. I guess we’ll see.

Haha, “RI-LEY” chants from the crowd. Nice!

Time for the Divas scheduled 2 minutes of weekly ring time. Anyone see the photos Maryse posted to Twitter this week? If not, you missed out.

Wow, Beth Phoenix and Gail Kim getting TV time? Maybe the end of the world actually did happen?

I always love seeing Kelly Kelly, and I ain’t afraid to say it.

I’m not the only one who thinks Kharma’s music is awesome, am I?

What the hell is this? I am lost…

Alright…here’s my thought. Given the build up with Kharma and her vignettes with her destroying Bratz dolls, I think what just happened leads into a classic “revenge” storyline. My thought is that Kharma was bullied and tormented by the “pretty girls” her whole life. Now that she is in WWE, her mission was to destroy the pretty girls. However, tonight when she got into the ring, surrounded by 8 pretty girls, it was too much, and her mind reverted back to the days of torment, which is why she broke down. I think that may be the route WWE is taking with this…either way, it will be interesting to see where they go from here.

Why was Kofi Kingston winning the US Title, TWO PPV’s AGO, a highlight on TONIGHT’s Raw? Better question…why does Drew McIntyre have pyro now? Looks like Kofi will be losing the US Title to Drew in the very near future.

Hate this PPV promo. With this one, and the one they did for Over the Limit, I think WWE hired a new company or marketing group to promote their PPV’s. Too bad they aren’t funny.

Still no Savage video package, or even a mere mention from the commentators. I’ll be pretty upset with WWE if we go the whole show without a mention of the Macho Man.

I love Alberto Del Rio, but that was pretty weak. Perhaps an acting class or two.

Finally, a tribute to Savage. Thank you, King, for speaking from the heart!

That was awesome. The more I’ve reflected on the Macho Man since Friday, I’ve come to realize that he was the first wrestler that I called my favorite when I started watching. He simply had it all.

Not sure how I feel about this match. But CM Punk’s Randy Savage tribute gear makes it all worth it.

I wonder how many in the crowd (I’m lookin at you kiddies!) realize that what Punk is wearing is a tribute to Savage. Really cool tribute.

Rey Mysterio needs to go away. This whole face team is so stale to me. I’m sick of them.

Diggin the sharpshooter on Punk though!

Two sharpshooters in as many nights. I’m OK with that.

Haha…what a frolicky leap by John Cena. Love that the commentators went back and focused on it. I bet that was a rib on Cena.

It was an OK show. Miz once again was made to look weak. I’m not happy about that. And I’m not just a Miz mark. I honestly believe that Miz is the future face of the company, but he isn’t being made to look like it. Of course, Vince McMahon is a far smarter man than I, so I won’t complain too much. I like that it seems the US Title will begin to be featured on the show. Looks like they’re building to something between Kofi and Ziggler, which I am OK with.

I realize that I am rambling at this point. I’m tired. So, I guess I will wrap it up here.

GREAT PPV…Until the Last Two Minutes

I’m not going to write a full post here - just going to mention how unbelievably TERRIBLE the booking of that main event was - ESPECIALLY the finish. Of course, it’s not like I didn’t expect it. I mean, John Cena is Superman after all. This match was the typical Cena formula - he gets his ass beat for the entire match, and then, BOOM - five moves of DOOM. And whaddaya know - Cena is still Champ.

I understand the business, so I understand why Cena is still champ. What I don’t understand is the manner in which they got there. Cena gets his ass handed to him for 15-20 minutes, in several brutal ways. For crying out loud, he had the steel steps dropped onto his body, was whipped with several objects, took a chair shot to the “head”, and Miz’s finisher to a very creatively placed steel chair. But, nah - that’s just a walk in the freaking park for John Cena. But as soon as he gets loose, a few belt whips to the back and an STF locked in for about 3 seconds is enough to get the Miz to scream that he quits? To quote the man that just got buried here - REALLY? REALLY?

I’ve always been one to defend John Cena against the Cena haters, but congratulations, WWE. You’ve managed to make me join them. I’m truly beginning to hate John Cena. And its not even his fault.

And by the way - Christian and Randy Orton should have closed the show.
